This double page spread drastically differs from the first draft of the double page spread. It uses media codes and conventions to enhance the quality of the double page spread whilst also making it seem more professional.
Upcoming kept the layout of the magazine consistent throughout. In the double page spread, the articles heading was in the same Bauhaus font that was used for the masthead of the magazine. The font has a rock star modern feel, which will also appeal to the consumers, as they are interested in this type of music and lifestyle.
The image of the article is placed n the right page. This was due to the fact that generally consumers will look first at the right page as they are scrolling through the magazine. Sadly, the picture is often what appeals to consumers the most therefore a quality picture must be positioned on the right page so that consumers will consider reading the content of the article.
The pull quote will also be positioned along the bottom of the page with the image of the musician on it. This is because they expect consumers to look at this page first before reading the article. The pull quote also gives the reader an insight into what the article is about and is designed to literally pull the reader and persuade him/her to read the article. It is an attractive technique employed by the majority of magazines.
The image involved the person inside the picture playing the guitar whilst glaring intensely into the camera. Through this eye contact the artist is creating a relationship with its consumers and shows that she really does value them. This is backed up by the pull quote which says “they let me rock like I’ve never rocked before”. This is referring to fans that she values due to the amount that they support her. Through the eye contact the reader of the magazine almost becomes involved in the interview. The eye contact also could show that Danielle Emina feels on the same level as her fans and fellow music lovers. This could show that she is an easygoing relaxed person who is levelheaded and not egotistical. This could attract the audience to this article, as they may want to become informed of a person who they like rather than a mainstream artificial celebrity.
Danielle Emina’s attire also plays a significant role in the double page spread. Due to the fact that she is revealing a lot of her body in the photograph this could attract primarily a male audience as they may find her attractive. However, her attire also has connotations of rock and roll meaning that it is relevant to the rest of the magazine.

The article is a small 8-question interview with Danielle because they believe that this short interview will keep the youthful target audience focused and concentrated on the article.
